Digital Archiving
Would you would like to preserve your documents or photos for generations to come?
I can archive them to CD or DVD for you. Document and photo archiving is excellent for insurance purposes, or to organize copies of your photos for your loved ones. Document and photo archive CDs and DVDs will not play like a slideshow, thus enabling more documents or photos to be added to the disc.
You might ask, "Why would I want to archive my photos or documents?"
Since digital files are stored as information, they don't deteriorate, as opposed to paper which will decompose. That means, no matter what happens to the original, you'll always be able to print off a document or photo that is an exact replica of the original scan. When stored properly these discs can last for decades. As added insurance, I recommend having more than one copy of your CDs and DVDs in separate locations, just to be safe.
I recommend archiving your oldest photos right away. The important thing is to preserve and protect your photos from further damage, which would add to the cost of restoration later on. Any damage to the photo will not get worse once the it's in a digital format. You can then have the photo repaired directly from the disc, and printed as necessary.
